No prizes for guessing which particular niche of single ‘BeNaughty’ caters to. BeNaughty is a casual adult dating site, its design largely geared towards enabling hookups between its users. The name of the site is indicative of the tone – fun, sexy, not to be over-analyzed. This is a dating site for people who know what they are looking for and certainly aren’t afraid to go after it. But how does it function, and can it live up to its promises?
So can you actually, be naughty?
Short answer, yes. Unlike other adult dating sites, BeNaughty functions similarly to more relationship-focused dating sites, in that it provides various methods of interacting with other users, rather than relying on minimalistic profiles simply detailing sexual preferences and desires. Multiple methods of finding singles are available – both a ‘swipe yes or no’, Tinder-esque feature, as well as the more traditional methods of browsing for profiles according to specific criteria. The site has a large membership; somewhere around 13 million across 70 countries, with slightly more female users than male. All sexualities are welcome.
After setting up a profile, which can be as detailed or sparse as each user prefers, users can search for other singles based on gender, location, age, photos and more. There is a ‘naughty mode’ which can be switched on or off, which allows the viewing of explicit media. The site certainly tries hard to keep its users engaged and entertained, with extra features including ‘naughty’ virtual gifts, erotic photo competitions, and the intriguing ‘Flirtcast’ feature, which allows members to send out identical messages to a large number of users instantaneously – but only once every 12 hours.
What’s it like being a member?
Next up in our BeNaughty review we created a profile, to test the user experience from start to finish. The user experience is intuitive and engaging, with all your encounters recorded in the ‘Activity’ section – this includes people who have viewed your profile, messages received, and nearby matches. This feature will come in handy for users who want to keep track of who they’ve recently viewed and interacted with.
The site doesn’t exactly look new, but both the BeNaughty website and app are easy to navigate, with an intuitive system of menus and an overall aesthetic that is more ‘sexy’ than ‘smutty’. The sign up page alone gives a good feel for the site – it has obviously been designed to promote the idea of singles finding casual sexual relationships through the site, however the minimalist feel and surprisingly conservative imagery will likely settle the heart rates of any nervous would-be members.
Is it safe?
For the final part of our BeNaughty review, we took a look behind the scenes, to check the security of the site. The site features a system with 3 different levels of browsing, in an aim to create a safer environment for its members. Members can browse either the profiles of everybody on the site, solely verified profiles, or everybody except profiles marked as ‘suspicious’. These varying safety modes also influence who can or cannot message you. The site uses GeoTrust to keep users’ information secure, and more information on its anti-fraud system can be found on the site.
